  • Job Title: Financial Accountant

    Overview of Role

    The successful candidate will form part of the finance function in Accipiter and will be responsible for the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual management and financial accounts and financial statements. They will be responsible for the management of the annual audit process and will assist with the management of the day to day finance function.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts and management reporting packincluding single entity accounts and consolidation of group SPV accounts.
    • Preparing and reviewing quarterly and annual group reporting packs in line with Grouptemplate.
    • Maintaining schedules for each of the major balance sheet and income statementaccounts.
    • Preparing and reviewing annual financial statements at group and single entity level underIFRS.
    • Responsibility for the statutory audit process at group and single entity level.
    • Ongoing liaison with auditors, bankers, lawyers and other transaction parties.
    • Assisting in the budgeting and forecasting process and performing variance analysis onbudgeted v actual.
    • Preparation of bank reconciliations including maintenance of the bank accounts.
    • Ensuring all tax filings, regulatory and ad-hoc reporting is completed in accordance withregulatory and deal requirements.
    • Providing support to the other functions within the finance department and throughout thecompany, including project related work and/or providing information for legal, technicalasset management, investment strategy and commercial.
    • Reviewing new lease, loan and transaction agreements.
    • Management of external financings, including hedge accounting in line with IAS 39.
    • Liaising with external auditors and internal teams regarding the accounting treatment of new deals.
    • Assisting in the preparation of reports and analysis for Board of Directors.
    • Performing annual/bi-annual impairment review of assets in line with IAS 36.
    • Development of a robust financial control framework for the company.
    • Assist with the tax compliance and accounts preparation of Norwegian / French companies.
    • Other various ad hoc reporting and modelling projects.

    Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

    • Hold a professional accountancy qualification (ACA / ACCA), post-qualified experience ideally gained in financial services

    Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience

    • Prior experience in the audit or accounting function of Aircraft Leasing or SPV entities would be a significant advantage
    • A strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), GAAP and financial and regulatory reporting requirements
    • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
    • A thorough understanding of accounting standards and ability to apply them in practice
    • Candidates from a "Big 4" background with exposure to financial services will also be strongly considered

    Overview of Role

    This is a key position within the technical department and the VP Asset Management & Powerplant will

    • Assist in the strategic direction of the company through the provision of advice andrecommendations to the senior management team on all technical asset managementand engine aspects within contracts for fleet development and cost saving generationacross the fleet
    • Provide expert opinion for all technical aspects of new aircraft deliveries, aircraft returns /transitions including ongoing management of each aircraft asset during its lease term witha focus on engines
    • Review, draft, and negotiate key technical covenants of lease and redelivery conditionsand assess inherent values of aircraft and advise accordingly
    • Protect asset values by promoting best practice in meeting or exceeding industrystandards both physically and through documentation control.
    • Be a point of contact for engine OEMs, and MROs and have a proven ability to negotiatecommercial terms with relevant suppliers
    • Provide technical and maintenance plans with forecasts of the life used / time consumedof the aircraft to be purchased / leased

    Key Responsibilities

    • Management of the engines within the Accipiter fleet
    • Analysis of engine data, work scope definition, management of engines through repair,and invoice review / analysis as required
    • Balance the defined work scope with cost containment to ensure the maximum value isachieved
    • Provide engine technical input for internal approval of transactions
    • Develop maintenance reserve rates for new transactions, or end of lease compensation forecasts as required for each transaction
    • Manage the review and approval of maintenance reserve claims from customers
    • Review and analyse OEM product support contracts (FHA / FMP / MCPH).
    • Negotiate general terms and maintenance service agreements with maintenance repair organisations (MRO), while proactively managing all engine manufacture relationships
    • Manage the annual survey program in conjunction with the Manager, technical and asset management
    • Work closely with the trading team to identify assets for potential sales based on maintenance economic life analysis
    • Maintain and manage budgets for technical elements of asset management
    • Keep up to date on all regulatory issues associated with engines, and assess how these impacts the fleet and brief senior management accordingly
    • Attend engine lessor conferences as required
    • Ensure team development through training, mentoring, and co-ordination of tasks
    • Review the Accipiter technical specifications for each aircraft on a regular basis and ensure contents are accurate and up to date
    • Provide expert industry opinion with the assessment of commercial market and technical information
    • Provide fleet-wide forecasts of maintenance status, reserve cashflows and return compensation on a regular basis with a focus on engines
    • Any other requests made by the company from time to time
